Whether you're a first-time visitor or find yourself redirected from my old digs at the Flying Trapeezius, I'd like to give you a heartfelt thanks for dropping by.

I'm fairly consistent with keeping the blog updated, but I do lapse from time to time. I don't set a goal on the number of posts I write each week (I know, I know...I probably should), but I do have a tendency to blog epically for a span of days before quieting down.

The setup here is fairly straightforward.

You'll see tabs at the top with different headings:

Home: The home tab is the main blog layout for the site. You'll find the latest updates, of course, at the top.

Essential Posts: Every once in a while, I write something useful. My favorite posts go in this section. You'll find everything from a complete list of all my works to writing advice and the secret behind the mysterious Peytonometer.

Matt's Short Stories: This summarizes the short stories that have either been published or accepted for publication. I keep it updated.

Matt's Novels: A list of the novels I'm revising or working on. So far, no publications here. Yet.

Twitter: This takes you away from my site to my Twitter page. I'll keep the tab for now...but it's not very useful. I may have to "Fredo" it soon.

On the right side of the page you'll find:

About Me: A quick bio with a look at my interests and favorite movies, books, and music.

Votto Story Meter: This is my "batting average" for short story submissions. It is currently up to date.

Amazon link & Available Works: You can check out my "author page" on Amazon.com. I expect the page to grow along with my writing career. I've also linked to some anthologies featuring my short stories.

Twitter Updates & Follow Me Button: I've become a big Twitter fan. Please join the ranks of my followers. Please. I mean...pretty please. I don't push my books in my tweets eight times a day, although if I do get a short story published, I'll link to where you can find it. You'll find assorted quips about movies, books, writing, and the Indianapolis Colts on my Twitter feed. If you're a Patriots fan, I forgive you.

Awesome Websites: I love these sites. I typically visit them multiple times a week. You should too...they're packed with writing advice.

Blog Archive: This author blog started in January. You can find all of my posts throughout the months in this archive.

Popular Posts: So far, the Writing El Guapo post reigns supreme because people are looking online for pictures of El Guapo and that comes up in search engines. That's the only explanation I have for that.
